Every Year that passes By leaves its Fragrance…..Last Year a few Months before this Month….I Met Mamta Mamta….Thus began the Journey of Blue Lotus & Buzzaria….

My Professional Journey began in 1998 with an Event Management Company than a Garment Export Company some Buying Agencies Some Retail & eventually to this….

All these Years my Life was Living me…But today I feel that I am Living my Life….It has been a wonderful ride…Many Downs some Ups & A whole lot of Experience….

When I decided to make Buzzaria Happen in Bhiwadi…Wow I didn’t know that it would mean covering a life time in a week……The Shop that I was promised turned out to be a challenge……It was just four walls & a floor all muddy & cluttered up….I got really upset & spoke with the Director of the Organization to bring the price down as had to hire a tent house to provide the cover-up….which again had to be negotiated….We had decided to have the Exhibit for 2 days…which we extended to 7 days….

It was Amalgam….I met very exciting People who loved the Products…appreciated the effort & the Uniqueness we are providing…Khanna Uncle & Aunty who came everyday to bless & bought some very beautiful products for their Kith. Butterflies followed them 
The Place that we rented had glass walls on 2 sides & A brick wall on one…The Hose’s for the Smoke alarm were hanging from the Walls which when I hung my Stoles from gave it Character…..One Glass wall the Outer of it extended into a small grass patch which had these beautiful Lavender flowers that were growing very close to the Earth…The Butterflies flew from All directions to pollinate & bless the Exhibit….They were Black…...Yellow…Burnt Sienna…Grey WOW…..Some even came in to look at the Products & fluttered with their delicate structure to a few directions to bless them.

The day of the setting up my father turned into an Angel…..as he helped me with providing help of 6 Men from the House Keeping without which I wouldn’t have been able to finish anything. I am in Gratitude. Thank U Papa  with Love.

Jean Paul Gaultier with a heart truly from Paris did the glam game again and this time with a definite applaud for the luxurious cross between punk, cabaret, French Cancan, & rock and Parisian glamour at the Spring 2011 couture, Paris. Models donned on the ramp in faux-hawks, sheer materials, fish net stockings, corseted torso and ruching rounding out the hips for a surprising mix of the Androgyny.The invitation for the show materialized in a safety-pinned piece of fishnet to a piece of cardboard, and very well kept the opulence a secret.

Gaultier's split with Hermes has certainly given him a new magic potion, he has always been a brilliant tailor, and here he applied his genius to an abstract play on leopard patterns in a reddish navy combination comprised some of the pieces. And a lonesome bright Ikat print suit in yellows, reds, purples and greens appeared mid show. Gautier, of course, couldn't leave out references to his signature sailor stripes. Fashion - as a way of life, has also stepped along and has transported itself at a point where new and fiercely ahead, is the only way to go.

Now have you ever imagined or fantasized of customizing your own garments with your own hands, that too in no time and much equipment hassle? If yes then there is news that will most probably bowl you over. Well....it seems like a product from a sci-fi flick, but it surely has stepped into reality amongst us as the bizarre new thing. Customized Fashion is now just a whiff of air away.

A Spanish fashion designer and a Professor of Particle Technology have come up with a Fabrican Spray on Fabric through which clothes can be created by merely spraying it on the skin. Seamless fabrics can be sprayed directly into the body using aerosol technology. This magical spray creates novel clothing that can also be washed and re-worn. An aerosol can or a spray gun is used in spraying the liquid. The spray is made from small fibers blended with polymers that join the fibers together. A solvent is also present in the spray that releases the fabric in liquid, and disappears as soon as the spray touches the surface of the body. Fabric is formed by the cross linking of the fibers, creating a non woven clothing. The web of the cloth is thin, but desired thickness can be brought in the garment by using multiple layers. As the fibers are created in a diffused form, other materials such as pigments or perfumes can also be added to it.

The liquid can be used directly over the body using aerosols, or sprays, and gets dehydrated quickly, becoming a new fabric. The texture of the fabric can be altered by adding or changing the blend of the fibers that are used in the spray. Fibers such as linen, acrylic, and wool can be used. The technology is believed to find creative applications in the fashion industry. This spray has other useful applications as well, such as medical dressings, bandages, hygiene wipes, air fresheners, upholstery fabrics for furniture, etc.

And here we find ourselves again with fashion to have established yet another invention to push the level of creativity of its designers, thus giving this world more novelty and innovation every passing day.

I can't see anything wrong to turn east to see things a little differently. In fact, it seems that this collection of handbags (which, by the way, they are all amazing!) has its particular history: the Dior Samourai 1947 bags are dedicated and created in the memory of a store. We're not talking about just any store, but the very first Dior store opened in Paris & you can easily guess the year & yes, in 1947.

The Fall Winter 2010 unveils the no mess look of straight line geometric boxes in our bags on one hand, and in the very next glimpse rejoices in paper bag relaxed cuts but predominantly maintains a monotone colourway.

Butterflies Birds

Wieden+Kennedy's art gallery presents a first-of-its-kind graffiti art exhibition, ‘Butterflies, Birds + Spray Cans’. In collaboration with British Council, the exhibition features works of one of the traditional urban art forms, aerosol art or graffiti art by prominent UK artist, Xenz aka Graeme Brusby, who is a major figure to emerge from the infamous Bristol street art scene. Curated by W+K Exp, the exhibition will be held from September 6th to October 8th 2010.

Within W+K Exp, the works displayed include paintings, on recovered and recycled metal surfaces, discarded objects found on the streets of London, a multi-layered screen print, traditional canvas and a Mosaic made of 64 canvas tiles.Xenz explains,My aim is to develop a community around these mosaics, where people who come to the show are the only ones to ever see it in its complete state - a bit like seeing graffiti before it's buffed or destroyed. Each participant becomes part-owner of the mural - almost like buying shares.

From September 6-10, with an aim to get this very public art form closer to people, Xenz will be painting onto the perimeter wall of the Charbagh located in the British Council in New Delhi. Xenz, who has painted walls and even church ceilings across the globe since the early 90s, will be painting a mural based on an "Enchanted Gardens", giving the public a chance to see the artwork grow over five days.

he opening evening of the exhibition saw some of the prominent Delhi faces including - Manish Arora, Malini Ramani, Sumant Jaikishan, Aparna Chandra, Joey Matthews, Vyom Mehta, George Martin, Tarun Pal, and many more.

It’s common knowledge that Zara enjoys a strong presence in 77 countries worldwide hence expanding their distribution to India was nothing, if not a natural progression. Being rumored to showing interest in the Indian market as early as 2007 Zara only managed to strike a secure deal with the TATA group's retail arm, TRENT Limited in February of 2009 for an official launch in 2010. During my recent vacation to Kolkata, an interesting read caught my attention in a glossy magazine that highlighted the new hair colour trends to rule 2011. No matter, the process of graying hair with increasing age has always amused me, personally I’ve always believed that grey hair can make any man or woman look more stylish and elegant!

Once the domain of our grandmothers, grey hair has now become one of the most sought-after looks of the year. And I was caught by surprise when I found my long time male friend sporting grey hair! Meeting him after a long time was anyway exciting and after finding him sporting the hot grey hair trend - the only words out were, “WOW! You look quite sexy!” And he could just say, “I know baby…I knew you would like it!” So as we took a leisurely walk of the beautifully decorated shopping mall (as it was Christmas time), I found other men throwing envious looks, while their girl friends were going ooh..La…la for my friend’s grey locks!

The grey movement is causing excitement. It’s all about retro, vintage and granny and grand pa style. Going grey has always been a problem for both young and older ones, but not this year. Youngsters today are not shunning from their grey hair syndrome. It’s quite common in my friend’s family to get grey hair at an early age. As my friend puts it, “I like this gracefully ageing look and definitely I think it’s very interesting when things that are considered ugly suddenly become hip and cool, moreover I like the thrill when the beautiful eyeballs scan my grey looks!”

After hearing his piece of mind, I concluded that the changing beauty trends demonstrate how subjective and time-bound beauty principles actually are. Silver tresses have been spotted on several catwalks. Celebrities like Nicole Kidman and Kate Moss have boldly sported their grey hair, embracing their natural ageing process and hence setting a statement of their confidence.

Tooth tattoos and tooth jewels have become one of the hottest fashion trends, and a very popular new trend in cosmetic dentistry. It is a new trend in body art in which custom, hand-painted artwork is placed onto one's tooth. Tattoo is, by definition, a pigment mark made by piercing the skin. In the case of dental tattoos, the teeth are not actually pierced or even touched with a needle, and the material which covers teeth is enamel, not skin. The aquatic world is being transformed into a grey and contaminated place without life as a result of the industrialization era. Thousands tons of plastic end in the ocean every year. As plastic hardly disintegrates, a synthetic environment is slowly coming over the underwater creatures, who in order to survive must adapt or will die.
The intersection between nature and this synthetic world is the basis of my collection. The outfits are made entirely of laser cut neoprene, a material that becomes our second skin and protects us when we are in the deep waters of the ocean.

What exactly are pre trends, a new jargon in the world of fashion? Aah! Not really I
just got overwhelmed with the variety of themes, inspirations and muses our designers
have picked for the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2011. The
individual strengths of each collection hold enormous potential to convert into trend
and hold the reins of some era resounding fashion and fad trends.
As I take a closer look I can already feel the sizzle of the brewing coffee.
Architecture seems to have hooked a lot of designers even though construct and
deconstruct them with individual finesse. Traveling and gypsy again resurge being quite
a popular theme for spring summer in India. The beautiful and colourful array of 
flowers that brighten your garden in Spring also could not escape the eyes of our
pret makers. Next in row is the abstract and mythical characterization. And doing the
broad round up for Pre trends is the Pop Art.
And just after the clock strikes 3.15 pm today a week long extravaganza of fashion
would begin with the opening show from the Mumbai based designer Anand Kabra who
interprets the old city surrounding Charminar on clothes. Another
designer who is translating architectural forms in constructional garments is
Kallol Datta. Though his take on the subject takes us to Solovetsky nunnery to
labour camps of pre World War I. Roma Narsinghani debuting at the WIFW this season
is also inspired by the great architectural marvel sagrada famalia, a church in

Samant Chauhan as his collection incorporates distinct architectural elements such

makers this season. & Ankur and Priyanka Modi celebrate a collection in 
Turkish for inspiration creating wearable art forms. Geisha Designs draws inspiration
from a longing to travel to the seas, basking in the sun's glory. Zurhke define
their collection in the magic and warmth of the Mediterranean. The journey just
begins here as Kavita Bhartia travels Crossing borders and boundaries using the
multi faceted skills of workforce transmigrating to vivid textures, prints,
embroideries cross border inspired from Africa, Persia, England and France injecting
a spirit of fun and excitement. Japanese Art and creativity would
be resplendent in Urvashi Kaur's creation. Wendell's Favorite destination brings
the Kunbi tribe of Goa. And the travel themelogy glitters with surprise as the
Tarun Tahiliani for the grand finale show construct The New Democracy from the
colours and flavours of Rajasthan.
Flowers and blossoms weave the flying carpet under the summer sun for Pallavi
Mohan&rsquo;s Pocket full of poises that bright and vivid with dream like sequences.
Koga as well is all set to unleash the unspoken power of a beautiful flower.
Rahul Mishra transcripts this entire flower power theme on a new palette as he uses
the Lotus for his centrifugal force. Manish Gupta brings sunshine
artworks in the form of floral, circular and ray like patterns.
Anita Dongre showcases Grassroot, her eco-friendly line to welcome the arrival of
spring sun.
The abstract world with surreal imagery also flashes the coming season. Dozakh
weaves a collection around the paradox of the human mind. Akaaro catches the
emotional drama from a film called 21 Grams. And things go Out Of Mind with
references the dark corners of the human psyche at 11.11 Cell Dsgn. Pratima Pandey
is deeply moved by a Kunal Basu and Aparna Sen's story The Japanese Wife. And
fantasy and Flemish mythology accentuates Sanchita Ajjampur's collection.
Anupamaa Dayal writes the story of Kinnaris a mythical tribe that lived in the
Himalayas.
POP ART certainly gains power this season to give your eyes a pop in fashion and
style. Dev r Nil has conjured up sepia toned Pop art dream in optical illusion
prints. Walnut by Nidhi and Divya Gambhir sing Bubblegum Pop. Nikhita Tandon's
Fantasy is so Important&rsquo; adds shots of some silver accents, wearable tatted
lace and crochet. And yes Nida Mahmood the forerunner of Indian Pop Art has picked
up Machis to bubble up all the barood and masala for Spring this time.

The seasons evanesce leaving behind the subtle spoor and a push for change. A change
to veer to new spectrums and horizons with rehashing color palettes and amoebic
silhouettes vying for a look - fashion arbiters and their blogs nudging to peep in
the dissentingly fashionable; glossy magazine covers with irresistible ensembles
clutching by collar to finally fall for them. This happens every season with
shimmering runways playing with our fantasies. So with innate sadism I take my men
folk( fashionably evolving) to levels of desperation with a ogle into the
spring/summer 2011.
The international forecasts say that fun and frivolity are going
to reign the scenario. The 50's classic pop over shirts, satin finish and mandarin
collars are ready to greet anew with runways around the world accentuating the look.
On the other hand, if the echoes around are adhered then, bright and shrunken look is
the key direction of the season.Pants with glazed effects and lacquered shine are
suggesting much of a motorbike look. Whereas, clam digger look (which sits right
below knee) and dandy crop along with Jersey knit and khaki pants are making an
elegant access. Moreover, super pressed look in refined denim can be tagged as the
look of the year.
The tyranny of blues and greys and monotony of demure silhouettes have long abstained
the not-so-fair; sex from the pep quotient (valid in sartorial context only).
Stereotypically dark man is all ready to bask in colors now with an inflating
androgynous bubble embracing the metro sexual man of today. The iridescence and
asymmetry are going to reflect on the upper wear this upcoming season. The mismatched
tailoring in vivid colors with electric hues, techno twills and monochromatic look
are here to splash with fervor. Influenced from the yacht culture contrast trimming,
piping, broader stripes and tailored jerseys are going to pile up the dazzling
shelves this spring summer. On the other hand, engineered denim blazers and classic
50's retro style summer blazers will be seen around in bright colors and a
new look.
Peeping a comeback, double breasted jackets (slightly elongated) contrasted with
cropped pants are vying for the biggest trend of the season. Relieving the corporate
monotony, dapper plaids, waist coats and single buttoned single breasted coats with
peak lapel are here & not for men only but for a man with style.

Away from the spotlight most of the time, Khadi items and tribal products are finding their moment in the Sun, thanks to the ongoing Commonwealth Games.

The colourful, diverse and exquisite products made by skillful artisans across the country are keeping the cash counter ringing at the Khadi and the Tribes India stores at the Games Village, as foreign athletes loosen their purse strings to buy mementos from India.

"It is brisk business now. The other day we did sales of Rs 57,000 on a single day. Now we are averaging about Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000 a day," Mamta Sharma, Shop Manager of Tribes India, an initiative of Tribal Affairs Ministry said.

Various items, including Kashmiri shawls, Angoori shawls, paintings and door hangings, coming from different parts of India are on sale at the Tribes India store.

"The sales have picked up so much here that we had to divert products from our two other shops in Delhi to here at the Village," Sharma said.

At last someone took up the courage to walk the forbidden path and take up the challenge of catering to luxurious menswear fashion. The Collective is launched by Madura Garments Lifestyle Retail Company, a group company of Aditya Birla Group. The first flag ship store was opened in Bangalore and the gradually it made its grand refurbishment in Mumbai and finally by this year September it set its foothold in the fashion capital of the country, Delhi. A noveou concept the store enthralls a huge floor space with designated areas and visual symmetry across all three cities.

Apparel covers all wardrobe needs from designer, formal, semi formal, casual, denim to active wear. The offering includes brands such as Armani Collezioni, Adriano Goldschmeid, Duchamp, Fred Perry, Hackett, Hugo Boss, Kenneth Cole, Ted Baker, True Religion and Versace Collection. And also houses lines from the Indian couture deigners like Manish Malhotra, Rajesh Pratap Sing, Varun Bahl+Karan Johar and many more.

Buffed up in nudes, Krishna Mehta&rsquo's show was subtle elegance and grace. The makeup was all about chiseled bones, immaculate eyes with a hint of blue and green and an Amy Winehouse-inspired beehive updo. The idea was to enhance the face without going overboard with colours.

Pragya and Megha for Gen Next

If there was an award for innovative hair pieces, it would definitely have gone to the newest mother-daughter designer duo, Pragya and Megha Samor. The hair was wrapped up in a tight bun and the straw hair pieces in neon colours added more than just glamour to the whole outfit. Add an orange lip and its fun all the way.

A piece of historic art that was used as the most loud and explosive propagation tool against Fashion, now nearing a decade has become the most fashionable style statement. The growing rage for tattoo as body art in the world of fashion was well recognized by Don Ed Hardy ( the Founder of Ed Hardy) when in 2002 he gave a formal way to his passion for tattoos and opened the apparel line with tattoo prints.

Tattoo as a fashion and style statement picked up a lot of notorious publicity in India and was welcomed open handedly as compared to other flamboyant fashion symbols which are marred by social stigma. Hollywood done with their tattooing, the Bollywood stars kept upfront with Maliaka Arora Khan, Sushimta Sen, Raveena Tandon, Isha Deol and the list goes on. And then came the era of embedding the name of your beloved and you know who shouted the loudest in the series, till it became a common joke for even the comedy scenes in Kareena Kapoor movies.
All said and done the classic styles and symbols of tattoo still hold a royal position with the classic fire marks, the dragons, the cupids, the bleeding hearts, the sun signs, the motorbikes, the Satans betrayal, bio-mechanical brains and a whole range of symbolic thoroughfares. Thus for the fashion conscious punks of today Ed is a dream destination and I am still to figure at what exact point of time did the Punks and Hip Hops cross each other's paths to merge out eponymous together. Thus today we are most likely to find double-X-L tattooed t-shirts with the Bling-Bling long chains, skull rings, dirt bracelets and explicit display of sex slogans making place for themselves in the same store. So even before Ed Hardy landed in India we had our own Indian brand Punk taking care of the little unruly taste of fashion very well. And just when I had thought we were done with the tyranny of fashion on tattoos I came across this new rage of tattooing the logos of big fashion labels like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Lacoste on their body parts. Now we still can’t decide if it is fashion or fad but sure it’s a bold upsurge and keeps up with the ethos of revolutionary ideology that Tattoos were propagated with. We don’t really know if this is symbolic of love and loyalty to brand or mimics with steep unaffordable pricing of these labels. However the tattoos have carved their niche in the mainstream fashion long back and are just strengthening it now with solid evidence as lifestyle channels like Travel & Living have dedicated an entire programme called the Miami’s Ink and magazines like Inked solely dedicated to Tattoos.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle......words that are just repeated and happily forgotten in our daily chores. But one fine day we actually sit down to follow this three word instruction manual the world would be a much cleaner and breathable and all the hulla hoo and go green campaigns and ads would suffer losses. Now here is Cristen Andrews from Austin, Texas who is busy crocheting the plastic bags into fashionable durable items.

While Cristen thinks plastic bags should ultimately be eradicated, she crochets with them because it's a good method of recycling these bags that would otherwise end up in the streets, landfills, or the bellies of animals. She has been making things like backpacks, shopping bags, hats, floor mats, water bottle holders, and drink koosies.

Last year Christen embarked upon a year-long trip around the world.While the trip wasn’t about crochet teaching, she did quite a bit of it during her travels - teaching in various impromptu workshops to people in places like Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Iceland, and Australia. Though she wasn't in any of these countries long enough to do this on a larger scale, but this definitely generated a lot of interest in her idea as Cristen has always envisioned of turning her concept into a self sustaining project; one that has a direct impact on improving the lives of underprivileged women and their families.

During their travels, they connected with various NGOs, community groups, and individuals dedicated to similar goals. And managed to teach 13 formal workshops in addition to several more informal ones – showing about 600-700 people the basics of plastic bag crochet.

This project as Christen likes to call it is very much in its baby stages, but currently they are in the process of developing a product line (Gamesh Bags), creating a web site (GameshBags.com), and exploring marketing opportunities. Aggrandized with 4 humane vehemences: Desire, Anger, Sadness and Love . Jane Slade, an environ mental designer portrayed her message. Always wondered the prodigious finesse of Hominidae.

Jane propounds:-

Desire-Desire can bring us great joy and great suffering. This contradiction is embodied in our treatment of plastic. The instant gratification of plastic has created pollution world-wide.

Anger-while anger can feel obstructive and overwhelming, it can also be used to illuminate what needs correction. Plastic is an ecological menace that has entered our food chains.

Sadness-To be low and heavy with sadness is just the first step to starting anew. Times of deep pensiveness allow us to see what is important and what needs to be done.

Love-Love and goodness are what make life a celebration. It is not a coincidence that light is associated with the ideas of love, hope, goodness, beauty, the sacred.....Light has the ability not only to illuminate but also to invigorate the human spirit. A candlelit room, an illuminated painting, the prism of a crystal, the spotted sunlight through a tree, the blue light of the moon, the flickering flame of a fire......all provoke the human spirit. What made you realize that the time has come when you should design/ transform products out of dissipated/ totally waste stuff? Jane Slade: I was always creative and had a sense or perception of seeing things beyond their actual usage/ function. Most of us know about the plastic Island in the Pacific Ocean and there are many more in other oceans. There are projects where plastic bottles are converted into bricks. So definitely the time is ripe. What measures have you brought about? How far has your expedition reached? Jane Slade: My work has just begun. Plastic is the biggest menace as we all know. Though there are a few official bodies who are supposedly doing the waste management thing....but frankly a lot needs to be done. Well I'm only one person who is wanting this change taking a bold step. I'm sure there are many others.....who might be lacking courage or financial support or other factors to make it happen. I believe their should be a subject like that in schools or colleges so that the young mind in its growing stage gets prepared to tackle with our biggest enemy. PLASTIC. I'm looking forward to work with materials other than plastic like rubber. The catch is to convert threat into an opportunity. Alongside Lighting designs, what different range of products are a part of your planning? Jane Slade: Definitely.......... Furniture is going to be my next venture. Like my previous designs. This new range will be a very innovative, groundbreaking and cheaper at the same time. What brings you to India? How do you relate with Indian Culture? Jane Slade: India is a land of opportunities, I came to India with an open heart. As I am aware of the rich heritage and cultural values of this nation. I'm making most of it. Differentiate your art forms from the other contemporary ones? Jane Slade: As you can see the medium or raw material used here is waste unlike painters and sculptors. Giving it an emotional value, I want my customers to treasure my designs for years. What message do you want to convey through your designs? Jane Slade: On a serious note, we have to make a difference, a big difference to the existing state of our society. This is the time when mother earth needs our help.
